Xi Jinping and Putin discuss the Middle East conflict and global energy disruptions
After meeting Xi Jinping in Beijing, Putin stated that the China-Russia relationship is at an unprecedented high level, while Xi described the relationship between the two countries as unbreakable.
Xi also warned that amid the rampant tide of unilateralism and hegemony in the international system, he seemed to take a swipe at the United States. (Slapped Trump's face)
Regarding the Middle East conflict, Xi expressed to Putin that the region is at a critical moment and called for an early end to the conflict, especially to ensure energy supplies.
"Achieving a comprehensive ceasefire is urgent; resuming hostilities is extremely unwise, and maintaining negotiations is particularly important," Xi said.
When discussing the disruptions to global energy supplies caused by Iran's near closure of the Strait of Hormuz, Putin referred to the energy sector as the engine of economic cooperation and added that against the backdrop of war, Russia will continue to be a reliable resource supplier for China.
