Gulf countries seek to de-escalate the situation and end the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz

Dania Thafer, Executive Director of the Gulf International Forum, stated that amid the backdrop of the U.S. and Israel's war against Iran, Gulf countries are seeking "solutions to the crises they face."

But she noted that, unlike Trump, Gulf countries do not view Iran's nuclear program as their top concern.

"From their perspective, the opening of the Strait of Hormuz and resolving Iran's missile program, which has launched thousands of missiles at Gulf countries, are the core issues at present," Thafer told Al Jazeera.

"There is a difference in the priorities sought by President Trump and those sought by Gulf leaders," she said.

"But of course, for them, getting involved in an imminent high-intensity conflict... or even the transitional state of the low-intensity conflict they are currently in, does not align with their interests."
