In our lifetime, we will experience many things, many of which may seem like obstacles at the moment, but might just be the future protecting you from another kind of cost.

It is difficult for people to determine whether a situation is a "bad thing," or if fate is helping you retain control.

Yesterday, I saw @cz_binance mention in a book that Sequoia Capital had once invested in Binance, but after three rounds of discussions, no deal was reached. During the negotiation process, they encountered China's regulation on digital currencies, as well as Sequoia Capital's doubts about Binance's valuation, making the entire process quite challenging.

At the time, it seemed like a rather disappointing and unfavorable situation, as Sequoia Capital is a well-known venture capital firm, and the delay in closing the investment deal was certainly not good for the entrepreneurs.

Moreover, later on, Sequoia Capital even sued Binance because of the unsuccessful investment, and although they ultimately did not invest, the painful communication process and the lawsuit affected the brand, making it appear overwhelmingly negative in the short term.

However, years later, CZ reflected that this situation was actually quite unexpected and even considered it a good thing.

Because although that lawsuit was painful, the process of Sequoia Capital's investment and the litigation unexpectedly prevented other VC firms from having the opportunity to negotiate investments with Binance. This, in fact, helped protect Binance from other investors.

If a large amount of capital investment had been accepted back then, Binance's shares might have already been diluted, and CZ himself could have potentially lost control.

After all, that era was mixed with the 94 ban and various uncertainties. Although everyone knew half a year later that Binance became number one in the world, at that time, with everything being unknown, some venture capitalists entering the scene, I think founders generally hope they can come in to share some risks and gain some notoriety.

So, you see, many things in the world are unpredictable; no one can understand the present, let alone predict the future.

We always think we are judging the good or bad of a situation, but many times, we are merely making conclusions from a very short time window about a story that has not yet unfolded.

The most interesting thing about the world is here: You think fate is creating obstacles for you, but years later, looking back, you realize it may have been guarding the gate for you.
