People are not held back by difficulties, but by ambiguity!
This part that the old horse said is very interesting and enlightening.
I have also encountered some things recently, and because they feel quite ambiguous, I did not deal with them in a timely manner. However, all these things occupy brain memory, which leads to them inadvertently surfacing and interfering with normal work when doing many other things.
I feel that the human brain is actually like a computer.
If there are a few small tasks that have not been handled, they may not be particularly important, but because they drain your memory, it can be very tiring and easily lead to fatigue, which is quite troublesome.
So when I saw this part, I felt enlightened. Often, I think I'm procrastinating, but in reality, it's just that I haven't thought things through.
What is precision and clarity?
① Precise goal (what do I really want)
② Precise end condition (when is it considered complete)
③ Precise action path (what is the next step)
If the state when making some decisions is: ambiguous goal + no deadline + no contingency plan, our brain can only enter a state of: procrastination + anxiety + continuous occupation.
This is also what Musk refers to as procrastination and fear caused by insufficient precision.
So procrastination is not the problem; ambiguity is the problem. Everything that cannot be advanced is essentially not clearly defined.
Motivation = precise goals + precise obstacles + precise triggers.
If we want to solve this problem, I think we don't need complete precision; we only need "enough precision." So today, I decided to set a simple rule for myself: not to pursue the optimal, but to pursue closure.
As long as it meets "sufficient," I will first make a reversible decision to close this issue from my brain to avoid excessive internal friction.
After all, procrastination is not the problem; ambiguity is the problem. Everything that cannot be advanced is essentially not clearly defined. I need to solve the ambiguity itself before solving the problem.
