The permanent representative of Iran to the United Nations said that the Hormuz resolution "has flaws in fact, law, and politics."

Iran's permanent ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Iravani, condemned the draft resolution of the Security Council as "completely biased, prejudiced, and unreasonable."

Iravani told the Security Council: "This resolution distorts the local reality, wrongly blames Iran, which is a victim of aggression, while deliberately ignoring the roots of the current crisis."

He added that Iran's actions in the Strait of Hormuz "are in exercise of Iran's inherent right to self-defense."

Regional countries condemned Iran for effectively blocking this Gulf waterway and continuously attacking its territory, stating that this move violates international law, including the freedom of navigation at sea.
