As soon as I woke up in the morning, I saw that @nikitabier had changed the rules of X again. We had previously discussed that X's registration location principle is an invisible benefit, especially the user benefits for Japan and the United States are maximized. After this information was exposed, many friends used VPNs and other methods to change their posting location to Japan or the United States.
Now, X seems to want to bind geographic location and language, increasing the exposure weight locally. For example, using English in the United States keeps the weight unchanged, but posting in Chinese in the United States may be affected by the revenue weight.
For instance, if I am in Singapore using Chinese, even if my Chinese posts receive a lot of views in Japan or the United States, the exposure from those regions (in English) will have a lower weight when calculating revenue.
However, if the content I post resonates with local Chinese users in Japan or the United States, that part of the weight will be higher. But because my physical address is in Singapore, it is relatively difficult to transmit to Japan or the United States, as it requires secondary or tertiary dissemination.
Moreover, simply posting in Chinese about American or Japanese political topics has helped many overseas accounts in the past to earn by boosting traffic from the U.S. and Japan, but now the efficiency of cross-region revenue will clearly decrease.
However, this change has been temporarily halted by Elon Musk, mainly because it affected the rights of too many overseas English users.
We do not know when it will be implemented yet.
Bitget VIP, lower fees, greater benefits
