My father was very strict when I was a child: no toys, no entertainment, wrong answers meant punishment; no communication, no praise, only sarcasm and criticism.

I made all the wrong major decisions about myself, leading me down many wrong paths in life.

But I also understand that his foolishness and stubbornness are products of an old era; he is also a victim of that old era, but all the bad things end with me.

And I know that I am my father's favorite person—just in a way that is not easy for others to accept.

Therefore, I am extremely grateful:

Grateful that he gave me a good body

Grateful that he raised me frugally

Grateful that his strictness restrained my playful nature
