They registered as an SEC transfer agent, recording token holders directly on the shareholder registry with full voting rights and dividend entitlements.

Once ownership is settled at the registry level, DeFi starts to work for equities in ways it couldn't before.

Tokenized shares can be posted as collateral on lending protocols and Superstate tracks beneficial ownership even when tokens are deposited across protocols.

Volume is still light and permissioned access limits composability with DeFi. But the ownership layer is live and each new integration builds on the last.
