Solana's Daily Active Validator Count Falls Below 800, Down Over 65% from 2023 Peak
The number of daily active validators on Solana has fallen below 800, returning to 2021 levels. This figure is down over 65% from the peak of about 2500 validators at the beginning of 2023. The volume of validator voting transactions has decreased from approximately 300,000 daily to 170,000, a drop of 40%. The main reason for the loss of validators is changes in economic benefits, including the diminishing support for voting costs and staking matching policies provided by the Solana Foundation Delegation Program over time. Coinbase stated that all prediction market contracts are currently provided by Kalshi, a compliant prediction market platform regulated by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), with more platforms' contracts potentially being integrated in the coming months.
Prediction market contract prices reflect the collective probability judgments of the market regarding event outcomes, and users can manage related trades alongside crypto assets, stocks, and cash positions on the same Coinbase interface, with a minimum trade amount of $1 (USD or USDC).
Uniswap: Token Auction Feature Launching on February 2 on Web App
Uniswap will launch the "Auction" tab on the "Explore" page of its web app on February 2. This feature supports Continuous Clearing Auctions (CCA) protocol, allowing users to discover, bid, and claim tokens directly on the interface. Bleap announced the completion of a $6 million seed round financing, led by Blossom Capital. The project's main business is to develop an on-chain financial application built around self-custody and stablecoin payments. This project was founded by former Revolut leaders Joao Alves and Guilherme Gomes, aiming to use blockchain as a settlement layer to provide payment, cross-border transfer, and savings yield functionalities. Bleap is currently live in Europe and Mexico and plans to use the new funds to expand to more regions in Latin America and launch cross-chain trading features.
