What are the bottlenecks of writing on Twitter (X)? (Part One)

  1. Ideas in my mind, but I don't know what to write when my hands are on the keyboard.

Answer: This is the most common problem. Many friends can talk freely during chats, but when it comes to the "writing" process, it seems like their brains crash. In this case, I personally suggest trying to chat with friends and recording the conversation, then throwing it to AI to help you get started. Over time, you'll know how to put pen to paper.

  1. Not knowing what to write.

This is the first step many new friends take. Most want to become KOLs or content creators but often don't know what they should write about or what field they excel in.

Answer: Don't rush to write your theme. First, read a lot of content from other friends on Twitter, then find topics you can understand and identify viewpoints that align or differ from the authors. Use "quotations" to create secondary content based on the original author's work.

This is a great way to find a track you like, are familiar with, and understand, and to try agreeing or disagreeing with some viewpoints. This exercise will help you take the first step.

  1. Worrying about writing something wrong and being criticized.

I don't know about others, but when I started writing, I made mistakes almost every day. Of course, in the beginning, I had fewer followers, so I received less criticism. I probably faced the most backlash when my followers were between 30,000 and 50,000.

Answer: No one in this world is perfect and never makes mistakes; making mistakes is normal. Acknowledge your mistakes and stand tall when criticized. In the early stages, being right or wrong isn't the most important thing; what's crucial is having the courage to express your opinions. Don't be arrogant when you're right; remind yourself it might just be a coincidence. Don't be discouraged when you're wrong; tell yourself you're still growing. If someone criticizes you and can articulate their reasons, they might be your best teacher.

  1. Should I be a KOL or a content creator?

These two are different. Although both maintain traffic through writing, the focus of a KOL is on "voicing" opinions, while a content creator focuses on "results." Although there is significant overlap, if you go down the wrong path at the beginning, it will slow you down.

Answer: A KOL's voice isn't about gaining traffic; it's about boldly expressing opinions even without traffic. I've seen many friends who "voice" their opinions first and then become KOLs. Voicing is a deep understanding of a subject, and the more resonant this understanding is, the more it can spread.

The results of a content creator aren't about providing an answer but about expressing the final outcome of the topic they discuss. For example, as a trading content creator, you should provide your self-assessment of the trade, not just a "guess." For event analysis, you should also provide your judgment on the event.

The result doesn't have to be "correct," but it must be validated through your own system.

  1. How much content should I write daily to become a KOL or content creator?

Answer: There is no standard quantity, but if you can create more effective exposure within your capacity, you will definitely gain more traffic. The latest @nikitabier mentioned that ineffective replies like GM or GN will incur exposure penalties; the more you post, the less exposure you get, while serious content will gain more exposure.

My personal suggestion is that if you want to make an impact on Twitter, start by spending an hour daily reading on Twitter, then gradually adjust your time spent on the platform. Additionally, if inspiration strikes, record it immediately. This could be a great topic.

  1. I really want to become a KOL or content creator, but I just can't write.

Answer: The popularity of AI has provided many friends with more convenient solutions. If you're unwilling to think, you should work more with your hands. Find trending topics you see, then ask AI about the impact of these events, and try to "rewrite" AI's content in your own way. If you just copy and paste, it may be hard to go far.

As a side note, if you see some creators who seem to have impressive content but can't articulate their thoughts during a Space, it's likely they are either plagiarizing or relying entirely on AI, lacking their own ideas, which makes success nearly impossible.

  1. Is it better to write long or short pieces?

Answer: Although I mostly write long articles, I still believe that the shorter, the better, as long as the message is clear. Most readers have low attention spans, especially with the impact of short videos. Many people will leave if they open a long article or will only read the beginning.

In this case, you can either write long articles but place the conclusion at the beginning for quick browsers to get the information directly, or keep it as brief as possible so that it can be quickly read in 15 seconds.

Length isn't absolute; what's important is to convey the message clearly and keep the reader interested.

  1. Which grows faster: video, Space, or text?

Answer: I've done all three. From my current perspective, video has the best dissemination effect and is the easiest to attract attention, while text has the best explosive effect and is the easiest to spread. Space is very helpful for early attention. However, video has the highest demand, followed by Space, while text has the lowest barrier to entry.

  1. Is it better to go solo, join an MCN, or form a team?

Answer: Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Personally, I've always worked alone. The biggest advantage of being solo is that it's easy to develop your own style and be remembered by readers. However, with a group, maintaining the same character setting can be challenging. While this isn't necessarily a bad thing, having multiple people often means it may not be something you genuinely want to do; it could just be a way to make money through writing. If it's not sincere, the heights you can reach may be limited.

MCNs can help with traffic in the early stages and provide earlier access to the commercial field, but the downside of MCNs is that you lose your own soul. Content creation on Twitter is still in its early stages, and this track hasn't yet produced results as explosive as e-commerce. Advertising is a double-edged sword.

If you're just in it for the money, MCN might be a good choice. If you want to focus on video, teaming up can make it easier, but with more people comes more opinions—one for content discussion and another for profit distribution.

There is no right or wrong, only your own choice.

  1. Should I take ads, and when should I start taking them?

I can only attempt to answer this question.

Answer: You can take ads, especially when you reach a certain level. There will be some proactive or passive pressures, similar to how stars like Andy Lau and Chow Yun-fat sometimes have to take on bad films. On the path of growth, you might encounter "noble people." If a noble person asks for your help, will you help or not? Of course, if you've been on your own without any help from noble people or friends, you can choose not to take ads.

Ads aren't just for making money; sometimes they're also about making friends.

Advertising is a double-edged sword. Most ads are aimed at selling coins, which isn't the entirety but just the majority. So, you need to find a balance between making money and maintaining your integrity. Identify your bottom line: which ads you can take, which you can't, and what content you shouldn't touch, and have a clear red line.

Personally, I believe that being true to yourself and having a clear conscience is a summary of my attitude towards ads. At least, that's my personal summary.

  1. Can KOLs or content creators make money? What is their status in the community?

Ants, compared to pure "chives," are just a bigger type of ant, with a louder voice. They may seem glamorous, but in reality, they are at least five versions away from the core circle. If you rely solely on being a KOL or content creator, earning a "salary" is possible, but making it to the level of top influencers is still very difficult. Currently, the income in this field has an upper limit, and that limit isn't as high as one might imagine.

I don't know about being a KOL, but being a content creator is more about passion.

@bitget VIP, lower fees, better benefits.
