Before the U.S. Supreme Court made a decision on the tariffs imposed by the Trump administration, Trump announced a 10% tariff on Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Finland starting from February 1 for the purpose of acquiring Greenland. This tariff will increase to 25% starting June 1 and will remain in effect until the U.S. reaches an agreement to purchase Greenland.
Under the currently implemented framework of the IEEPA, this tax law can be normally implemented, but it has also caused headaches for the Supreme Court. With no results yet on the previous tariffs imposed by Trump, this new set of tariffs is likely to receive low support from the court.
Currently, according to prediction data from Kalshi, the support rate is only 35.6%.
