In fact, from the perspective of cost of living and long-term residence, including education, healthcare, and convenience, Japan is the best choice, almost without exception. Japan is also the easiest country among developed nations to obtain PR, again, almost without exception.

Of course, Japan has its drawbacks, the biggest being language and geography. The former requires time to learn; believe me, knowing Japanese and not knowing Japanese is like being in two different countries. The difference between being good at Japanese and not is like the difference between Singapore and Malaysia.

The geographical issue is unsolvable. To be honest, I am currently considering keeping my PR opportunity in Singapore while trying my luck in Japan. The related introduction by @_FORAB is an excellent teacher; I have learned almost everything about Japan through AB.
