DoubleZero brings High Performance Fiber infrastructure to Solana.

DoubleZero is a dedicated network overlay that aggregates underutilized private fiber links to create low latency paths between validators.

Propagation generally gets harder as the validator set grows. Every additional validator increases the number of points data needs to reach.

With DoubleZero, messages propagate through the most direct path rather than being routed across multiple fiber links before reaching their destination. This compresses the gap between the fastest and slowest validators, allowing votes to finalize in fewer rounds and blocks to disseminate more evenly.

DoubleZero's private fiber network also enables multicast, allowing blocks and votes to be replicated inside the network and delivered simultaneously to a large portion of the validator set.

Throughput is predicated on how well a network propagates. At Breakpoint 2024, the Firedancer client demonstrated that 1M TPS was possible in a controlled environment. The client was running over an optimized network path provided by DoubleZero.

HFT firms pay millions annually for private fiber networks that guarantee deterministic transmission between exchanges since predictable latency is crucial. The same is true for apps like CLOBs, derivatives, and real time market data feeds. DoubleZero brings this infrastructure to Solana.

Firedancer maximizes client execution efficiency. Alpenglow establishes deterministic consensus with sub second finality. DoubleZero solves what could be the last bottleneck in Solana's performance equation: network level variance.
