I believe that a person's subjective initiative is very important. A person's inner qualities (such as thinking patterns, behavior patterns, and emotional habits) will guide them to make different choices, leading to different life paths. Therefore, I believe that character determines destiny, which is a collective law.

If destiny determines character, then personal effort, self-reflection, and growth lose their meaning; this is a negative worldview, and negativity itself is a form of character. There are many cases of the same destiny resulting in completely different lives.

So can character not determine destiny? There is some truth to this, as certain external environmental changes can also affect a person's destiny! But the underlying foundation of collectivity is character.

We cannot choose our origins or certain unexpected encounters, but we can consciously reflect and cultivate ourselves to improve our character: for example, by developing resilience, learning optimism, and maintaining openness. When we change our "internal response system," we can respond to the challenges that destiny presents in different ways, thereby maximizing our ability to influence and rewrite our own "destiny."
