The long-silent Solana meme scene has become lively again, and in a way we could hardly imagine — Jesse Pollak, the head of the Base protocol, well-known crypto KOL Cobie, Solana founder Toly, and pump.fun founder alon are all "abstracting" around a Solana meme coin. Especially with the addition of the Base camp, it feels like a "breaking of taboos," which is quite unexpected for players in the current competitive environment among various chains.
This Solana meme coin is $chillhouse. It is not a new coin; since its successful launch on pump.fun, Chillhouse has been on a journey for half a year and has always been one of the important meme coins in the pump.fun ecosystem. So, what kind of coin is this? What connects it to this cross-camp "meme abstraction show"?
Chillguy + House = Chillhouse
The initial inspiration for Chillhouse comes from the title of this section, "Chillguy + House = Chillhouse." Indeed, at the beginning, Chillhouse was merely positioned as a "Frankenstein."

Although it is a "Frankenstein," it possesses the rare "rebellious irony" characteristic of excellent Web3 memes. Chillguy had an explosive market during last year's meme bull run but ultimately faced a lawsuit warning from Chillguy's original creator, Phillip Banks.
This is the first half of Chillhouse — "The creator of Chillguy is not a Chill person."
The other half comes from the briefly dazzling coin in the Solana meme market after the cooling of Trump’s coin, which is $House. At the end of April, $House, which broke through with the slogan "1 $House = 1 dollar," reached a peak market cap of 120 million dollars, tapping into the global anxiety of young people being unable to afford housing.
During the rise of $House, a new "version god" emerged, named Fapital. Fapital has a group chat called "Fapital Club," where Chillhouse's deployer @VERYKOOLLUKEY said something like:
"What if we launch Chillhouse?"
Other members of the Fapital Club found this idea interesting. Eventually, @0xRacist created the image of this "Frankenstein" — Chillguy's head transformed into a house.

Fast forward six months, this idea has generated nearly $169,000 in creator income. An interesting idea, creating a meme coin, has yielded over a million RMB, which is truly the magic of Web3.

This creator income has been accumulated since July 20, as the current operator of Chillhouse's official Twitter is @RiccoRosas, and the creator income was redirected to him at the end of July. So it can also be said that Chillhouse is the most successful case of creator income reform after pump.fun, ensuring the long-term operation of the meme coin.
Before we start reviewing Chillhouse's journey, let me remark that often, the most stagnant market also breeds opportunities. Six months later, as I write this article, Chillhouse and neet have become the "twin stars" of the pump.fun ecosystem. Both have connections to Fapital — one directly born from a Fapital group chat, and the other recognized by Fapital very early on.

The "twin stars" on the pump.fun homepage
Fapital's "leading" style has never been verbose. Looking through his tweets, you will find that he sometimes disappears for a while, then comes back to joke, sometimes even unrelated to cryptocurrency. If you are not a long-term active player in the pump.fun ecosystem, you might not even know who this person is. To some extent, long-term persistence in the pump.fun ecosystem, overcoming language and cultural barriers, has given Chinese players an information advantage from their persistence.
Other recognized coins in the pump.fun ecosystem, such as $USDUC and $tokabu, have also slowly grown since the low tide of pump.fun and the entire Solana meme ecosystem five months ago.
Of course, the growth process is not always smooth.
The Growth Process
Chillhouse's start can be described as smooth. Within less than a week after the token's birth, it broke through a market cap of 10 million dollars. @json1444, who is now the Chief Content Officer of pump.fun, mentioned Chillhouse in its first week of existence.

Chillhouse's community also presented a unique appearance. After the successful launch of the token, community members eagerly created related funny images, which did not deliberately revolve around $chillguy or $House but rather engaged in abstract creativity.
The community's efforts paid off with a significant success at the end of May. Community members spontaneously sent Twitter DMs to major KOLs like a sticky candy, with the message, "Thoughts on chillhouse?"
The "text bomb" ultimately brought Ansem out, and "Thoughts on chillhouse?" became a meme in the Solana ecosystem. Now, when you see players in the comment section randomly saying "Thoughts?" in both English and Chinese, it is actually a simplification of this meme. The meme does not genuinely seek KOLs' opinions on Chillhouse; it is more of a "sticky candy" way to attract attention, like when my friend asks me how the weather is, and I immediately respond with three questions, "What do you think of Chillhouse?" regardless of the audience or context.

Ultimately, this meme also brought out pump.fun founder alon:

With this meme, Chillhouse quickly attracted more interactions from major KOLs. @based16z jokingly cued Chillhouse, saying, "Hyperliquid cut the KOL budget, Chillhouse team, I will contact you." Chillhouse seized the opportunity well, asking, "Can you help me arrange an interview with threadguy?" which led to threadguy's reply, "How much?"

After this, $chillhouse entered its first major upward wave, reaching a historical high of nearly 30 million dollars in market cap by late June. At this point, Chillhouse had become an undeniable presence in the Solana meme ecosystem, appearing repeatedly in spontaneous antics on Twitter and in mitch's Telegram channel and rasmr's live streams.

In Rasmr's live stream, Chillhouse appeared continuously, both asking passersby "Thoughts on chillhouse?" and participating in other shows with Chillhouse on their heads. Chillhouse also appeared in other top pump.fun live streams, such as Based DD.
Chillhouse had established its foothold, but the coin price could not keep rising indefinitely. After approaching the 30 million dollar mark for the first time, Chillhouse entered its first sharp correction, dropping about 75% within 12 days.

The subsequent fluctuations did not have obvious positive drivers like this one, leading to a "painful process" — the community remained, Chillhouse's content consistently maintained high quality, but short-term emotions and attention could not always stay focused on a newly emerging meme coin. Just like the meme coins SPX/Mog/BITCOIN on the Ethereum mainnet that have undergone long-term consensus testing, Chillhouse also entered this difficult and unavoidable trial.
During this period, Chillhouse launched an NFT series called "Lil Chillers," with the floor price once exceeding 7 SOL, showcasing its influence. Currently, the floor price of this NFT series is about 1.1 SOL.
But before discussing this "gathering of heroes," let's address a question:
What is pump.fun founder alon's attitude towards Chillhouse? If he likes this coin, why hasn't the pump.fun token support fund, Glass Full Foundation, bought this token?
I believe this is intentional on alon's part. First, pump.fun has changed its Twitter profile cover several times over the past few months, each time featuring the meme coins it supports, and Chillhouse has never been absent.
Secondly, looking through alon's tweets, at first glance, it seems there might be some beef between Chillhouse and alon:

alon: "Organic tokens in the pump.fun ecosystem (meaning community grows naturally and well, without relying on KOLs and conspiracy pumps) will have big news, but Chillhouse is not organic."

alon: "Can you remove Chillhouse from the picture?"
But in fact, Chillhouse's style is that of a neurotic "brain-dead child." Alon's "disdain" in his tweets and the GFF's lack of investment are actually a form of alternative CP.
How to put it, it does feel a bit like Chillhouse is being treated like a little Jack Ma.
All-Star Abstraction Show
Chillhouse's price hit a historical high just yesterday, surpassing 30 million dollars, rising about 9 times from the bottom in just four days.
The reason is this imaginative "All-Star Abstraction Show." Why do people not just think that Chillhouse got lucky? We need to sort out the complete timeline.
On October 21, Coinbase spent 25 million dollars to purchase the UpOnly NFT from Cobie. Subsequently, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong confirmed the authenticity of the news. Brian stated, "Holders of this ticket (NFT) can force Cobie and Ledger Status to perform like monkeys, recording 8 episodes of 'Up Only TV.' This ticket does not grant any sponsorship rights, and we reserve the right to call you 'the fool who bought this thing,' or completely ignore your existence — not mentioning you at all throughout the 8 episodes. Guests will be decided by us, but if we find you interesting, we might consider your suggestions."

UpOnly TV was a podcast hosted by Cobie, which ceased airing in December 2022, mainly due to the FTX collapse leading HBO to cancel the television version contract. The show was initially sold to HBO in December 2021 but was terminated after the FTX incident in December 2022. The last episode uploaded to YouTube was shortly after the FTX collapse.
In May of this year, Cobie minted this NFT titled "ADMISSION: 1 SEASON OF UP ONLY TV." Faced with calls on Twitter to restart UpOnly TV, Cobie resisted, stating that people just wanted the crazy bull market of 2021 to return, not genuinely wanting the return of UpOnly TV. When comments suggested that Cobie underestimated his industry influence, Cobie retorted:
"You claim I can create the atmosphere of 2021 by doing a cryptocurrency podcast, while this podcast only had a scale at its peak that was one-tenth of The Moon Carl, Bitboy, or CryptoManRan. This is not based on reality. The only way to recreate the atmosphere of 2021 is to fix the market structure, not the market commentary. Being a good Echo has 100 times the impact of doing a podcast for that purpose."
Cobie then minted this NFT and listed it on OpenSea for 10,000 ETH. On October 7, Cobie changed the price to 5,000 ETH.
On October 10, the NFT was placed on Manifold by Cobie, with a price tag of 25 million $USDC.
On October 21, Coinbase indeed spent this much money to buy this NFT, while also spending 375 million dollars to acquire Cobie's startup project Echo, which he deemed much more meaningful than the podcast.
On October 22, alon retweeted a post from Cobie dating back to 2015. Cobie's original tweet was, "In this sinful life, all I need is myself and my Pump team." Alon's quoted tweet was, "This is what I'm doing now."

Since Cobie's return was a hot topic in the crypto space, alon's tweet at the time was not taken seriously, as alon is also a well-known Twitter surfer.
On October 25, Chillhouse's official Twitter continued its usual erratic style, "F* you, Jesse Pollak, f* your Base."
Unexpectedly, this tweet really got Jesse's attention, leading to a "rebound." Subsequently, Cobie also joined the fray in the comments, saying, "What the hell, let me teach you how to properly respond to such nonsense." Chillhouse continued its antics, "Cobie, you're a piece of s*** too." Cobie responded, "Kid, you'll be in trouble once the Coinbase comms team approves me to fire back."
Here, it's worth noting that Jesse was not hearing about Chillhouse for the first time. In fact, back in July, Chillhouse's daily antics had already reached Jesse:

Chillhouse: "Hey Jesse, give us 1 Bitcoin, and we'll bridge to Base," Jesse: "Welcome with open arms." As for the money? Hehe, I'm not giving it.
Returning to the current timeline. After drawing out Jesse and Cobie, Chillhouse "pressed the advantage":

Chillhouse: "Cobie, take me and Jesse to UpOnly TV, and let us settle this civilly," Cobie: "OK, sounds good."
On October 26, Chillhouse's antics continued, "I'm going to bridge to Base."

A few hours after this tweet, Chillhouse again cued Cobie, "Cobie is too active in Chillhouse's Telegram chat." Cobie then released a screenshot of a text message, in which he was conversing with Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong. Brian expressed that he liked the joke "Chilled House" and suggested Cobie post, "What's under Chilled House? There's BASEment! Base belongs to everyone!" Cobie stated he wouldn't post it, while Brian suggested asking Jesse.

Then a few minutes later, Jesse indeed posted:

On the evening of October 26, Chillhouse made it to the news section of the pump.fun mobile app. The news headline read, "Chillhouse and Base Rug Again After Getting Together," a very abstract title, while the content recapped the interaction process between Chillhouse and the Base camp.
The pump.fun official Twitter also tweeted, "Chillhouse, if you see this news, it's never too late to come back."

On October 27, Chillhouse continued its usual antics, "F* you, Toly, f* you, Mert (Helius CEO), f*** you, Solana Foundation."

This time, Toly was blown up, saying, "Reject modernization, return to Boden, and Biden will rise again in 2028." Chillhouse replied, "What era are you living in, dude?"
Then, Chillhouse posted a video that was quite funny. The plot was roughly that Chillhouse and alon were playing together every day, then alon disappeared, and Jesse appeared to capture Chillhouse's heart. After that, alon tried to text to reconcile, but Chillhouse was already with Jesse and Cobie.

Then alon made his entrance, starting off strong, "F*** your Chillhouse." Chillhouse replied, "Missed out?" Alon responded with an image saying, "I don't want to play with you anymore."

At this point, the timeline is mostly sorted out. It can be said that Chillhouse single-handedly blew up the forces of Base, Solana, and pump.fun, completing an incredible "All-Star Abstraction Show."
When the x402 protocol had just exploded in popularity, everyone instinctively thought Base would seize the opportunity to push hard, but the bosses of the Base camp surprisingly came to interact with Solana meme coins. Coupled with alon's tweets before the "All-Star Abstraction Show," the entire timeline gave players room for imagination—could there really be such a coincidence?
Moreover, Jesse's public act of buying a bunch of Solana meme coins on October 26 deepened this association. On that day, Jesse tweeted, "I love trenches and Troll," and when someone asked Jesse if he had the Solana meme coin $troll, Jesse replied, "Now I do," and attached his Solana address.

According to on-chain data, Jesse purchased the following Solana meme coins: $chillhouse, $troll, $neet, $trencher, $house, $tokabu, and $chillguy.

So what is Jesse's true intention? If we don't rely on speculation and only look at the public tweets, Jesse seems to want to attract quality meme communities and developers on Solana. In the tweet below, we can see that while Chillhouse is being erratic, Jesse seriously shared the GitHub page for the Base cross-chain bridge in the comments:

Conclusion
Whether or not there are "big news" brewing among multiple parties, Chillhouse's influence has once again significantly increased, redirecting attention back to Solana and pump.fun meme coins.
This ongoing erratic style has made Chillhouse's positioning increasingly clear—it is no longer the early "Frankenstein" with a quirky positioning, but has found and firmly established its identity as a "Web3 Funster" through daily persistence, which aligns well with the wild and subcultural style of Web3 memes.
Whenever something happens in Web3, people will think of this Chillguy with a house on his head, trying to cue him and let him come over to be erratic and showcase humor. Chillhouse's significance to Web3 has already surpassed Chillguy—though born from "stitching," it has become a native meme with a kind of emblematic quality in this circle. It is not a simple IP transplant like Chillguy, created for hype, but has begun to carry the joy and emotions of this community.
Although the Solana meme market no longer has the glory of last year, the past six months of sifting through the sands have revealed meme coins that can compete in quality and positioning with the great meme coins on ETH. This is Solana's progress—community and culture have begun to form, and truly excellent meme coins should withstand the test of time. A chain must first have a meme coin that can survive long-term and prove its sustainable development before players can truly feel a sense of belonging, and "P Young Generals" will gradually transform into a new batch of "diamond hands."
Even though the excellent meme coins on Solana currently still cannot compare in market value with the star meme coins on ETH, nor can they match the established meme coins on Solana, and have not even reached the heights of last year's hot projects, I have never felt that these new coins are "born at the wrong time."
Because truly excellent meme coins will create their own new era.
