Today, #Bloomberg listed 24 #AI companies to watch in 2026, which could become the focus of the market if they go public.
1️⃣ Model Makers
These companies are like the "second tier" trying to challenge #OpenAI and #Anthropic, representing new forces in #AI sovereignty from Europe, China, and Saudi Arabia.
Mistral (France): The hope of European AI, backed by two giants, Nvidia and ASML. It aims to create Europe's own ChatGPT and is building a data center in France with Nvidia. With $3 billion in funding and a valuation of $13.6 billion, it is almost the "ceiling" of the European AI startup scene. Mistral is currently my top pick among non-U.S. #AI foundational model companies, supported by European governments and Nvidia.
DeepSeek (China): Stunning the world with its open-source model, regarded as China's "affordable version of OpenAI." Its significance lies not just in technology but in proving that strong models can be built without burning through billions of dollars. It does not require external funding and showcases strong execution capabilities through self-raised solutions. In my view, #DeepSeek's asset-light approach is smart and may become the underlying standard for China's AI ecosystem in the future.
Humain (Saudi Arabia): The Saudi sovereign fund PIF has invested $100 billion to create AI models and chatbots for the Arabic-speaking world. This scale can be considered the "Middle Eastern version of OpenAI," but product implementation is still early. Humain has the most money, but also the highest execution risk; I personally believe that #AI is not purely a game of stacking cash to win.
2️⃣ Vibe Coders
This is currently the fastest-growing category of companies in #AI—using #AI to write code and help programmers improve efficiency. I believe this category is the most likely to commercialize in the future because the market for AI-written code is an immediate necessity.
Cursor (San Francisco): Originally named AnySphere, its goal is to "create AI assistants for programmers." Valued at $9.9 billion, with $1.1 billion in funding. It is the closest product to becoming the "ChatGPT for programmers," with a very smooth experience. I have also used Cursor to assist in creating some crypto-related dashboard analyses; it can be said to be the absolute leader in the #AI programming field, with astonishing growth.
Lovable (Stockholm): A small but refined #AI programming platform that focuses on generating apps with simple prompts. Valued at $1.8 billion, with $228 million in funding. I have not used this #AI product, so I have little say; I have heard that it is used quite a bit by small and medium-sized enterprises in Europe.
Replit (California): An established online programming platform that has revived after transforming with AI. Valued at $3 billion, with $458 million in funding. It covers a relatively large number of developers. I have not used this yet, but it has a good reputation overseas.
3️⃣ Content Creators
AI is the new revolutionary force in video, music, and image generation. These companies are the closest to the "AI entertainment industry," where the content industry has traditionally been labor-intensive and process-heavy; AI will replace a large number of such talents and greatly improve efficiency.
Runway (New York): One of the earliest companies to do AI video generation, used by Netflix and Disney. Valued at $3.3 billion, with $545 million in funding. Runway has now become a standard tool for AI film production.
Suno (Cambridge): An AI music company that can generate songs with vocals in just a few seconds. Valued at $500 million, with $125 million in funding. Its technological breakthroughs make music generation more natural. Currently, #Suno is the most promising AI application to disrupt the music industry.
Black Forest Labs (Germany): A new player in image generation, collaborating with Meta and Adobe, with core technology from the Stable Diffusion team. Valued at $3.25 billion. Black Forest Labs can be seen as a strong comeback of the Stable Diffusion team after reorganization, potentially leading the AI image standards in the future.
