It's quite interesting to say that my desire for material things isn't very high, but I tend to spend money recklessly in certain areas. Before I started working, I used to buy comics; the comics in my house could be measured by the ton. I would save every penny I had each month just to buy comics to read. As I got older, I started to like buying game consoles. The unique thing about China is that game consoles are expensive, but games are cheap.
When I was younger, I also played online games, spending over a dozen 648s on them, but one day I suddenly woke up to reality. Now, the only online game I have on my phone is Pokémon, and I've become a bit lazy about spending money. I also have a few single-player games, which I bought outright and don’t spend any more on. Additionally, I hardly buy physical comics anymore since there are electronic versions available.
I've bought a bunch of games on Steam and a bunch on Switch, most of which I haven't even opened. This is probably the most wasteful money I've spent, totaling a few thousand dollars. It's not much, as I have little demand for clothing, food, or housing. I don't even spend a whole $ETH on clothes in a year. I often eat at food courts (you can see that on my Xiaohongshu), and I currently rent a regular apartment in Singapore. I usually just take the subway when I go out, and the only time I take a taxi is during Token2049. On a regular basis, a few hundred Singapore dollars a month is enough for me.
The biggest expense is probably travel, mainly for flights and accommodation, but averaged out over the years, it’s less than 10% of my annual income. So, I really don’t have much spending in the consumption area, which means my material desires are relatively low. Oh, and I do drink, but mainly just to join my friends, so the money spent on alcohol is practically negligible. Other than that, I don’t have much personal spending.
