Thanks to Cipher Dance for the invitation to participate in the @MetaMask event. I was also fortunate to communicate with the team from the little fox about wallet services and experience the latest features of MetaMask. In fact, MetaMask has been one of the wallets I used very early on; after ImToken, it has mainly been MetaMask that I used, covering almost all of my web-based on-chain interactions from 2021 to 2023.

But why has the demand for MetaMask decreased today? Is it because competitors are too strong on the product side? I don't think so. Previously, #Binance Wallet was criticized daily, and the change in reputation wasn't due to significant technical improvements or essential changes in product experience, but rather because of #Alpha, which fundamentally allows users to make money.

In terms of products, #OKX Wallet is recognized as user-friendly, but the reason OKX Wallet was initially accepted by everyone wasn't because cross-chain transactions were easy or because the swap fees were low; it was because it was the first wallet that allowed users to easily inscribe. This was a strong user demand, and later on, OKX Wallet also performed exceptionally well in the meme space.

Therefore, the focus of wallets is not on how beautiful the UI is or how complete the features are. The essence of a wallet is to securely store users' assets. However, at this point, the differences in security among several wallets are not significant. It’s more about how to attract users, either by enabling users to easily make money, like Alpha or Booster, or by seizing independent resources, such as Binance's IDO, or by staying ahead in the market.

The concept of user experience seems appealing, but it is not as practical as giving users money. Under the premise of security, if the money is in place, even if it’s a pile of garbage, there will still be people eager to interact.
