After reading the article "A Personal Account from a Web3 Individual: Why I Ultimately Left Singapore?" shared by @WutalkWu on WeChat, I resonate with it quite a bit!
For those in WEB3 with families, immigration represents not just personal convenience and safety, but also the migration of the entire family, which must be approached with great caution!
In recent years, I have traveled to many places and observed various social systems and educational environments. My experiences in Singapore are quite similar to what this author described:
1️⃣ The advantages of Singapore are real, but many people underestimate the costs.
2️⃣ For Web3 practitioners, immigration is often not about "completely switching to a better world," but rather "changing to a new competitive environment." The costs and opportunities are reshuffled, and the first priority to consider is cost-effectiveness, so it is essential to be rational.
3️⃣ Many people only see the sweet aspects of education and living before immigrating, but do not fully consider the long-term challenges related to career, identity recognition, visas, and policy stability.
This article reminds me of a saying:
"Immigration is not about escaping problems, but rather about exchanging them for a new set of problems; it’s simply about how you choose after weighing the pros and cons."
