I just read the Federal Reserve's Beige Book, and it is not very friendly. There is a trend of slowing economic employment, and prices are also rising. Overall, the U.S. economy is likely facing stagflation, if not outright recession, which poses a challenge for the Federal Reserve. Lowering interest rates can indeed help alleviate economic pressure, but whether this will signal an economic downturn to the market remains uncertain.
On the other hand, if they do not lower interest rates and focus solely on combating inflation, it could very well lead the market into a genuine economic downturn. Although the Federal Reserve may not be overly concerned about risk markets, the pressure from the market will inevitably increase. Let's see how the Federal Reserve chooses in September.
