The extended meaning of "Kitty" won't be discussed here, as we've talked about it privately. The main focus is on insomnia. I am someone who almost never experiences insomnia; I can count the number of times I've had it on one hand throughout my life. Conversely, many people around me do suffer from insomnia. I've summarized the reasons why I don't have insomnia, and I believe that the direct relationship with thoughts or even stress isn't very significant. During my most challenging times, days felt like years, although it wasn't quite to the extent of turning gray overnight.
However, this doesn't affect my sleep, which is generally quite good. Firstly, I have a habit of reading before bed, a practice I've maintained for a long time, dating back to my school days. The primary purpose of reading is to help me detach from the complex thoughts of the day. Once I immerse myself in a book, my mind quickly relaxes.
I don't particularly recommend watching short videos to aid sleep, as they provide greater sensory stimulation, which is counterproductive to falling asleep. Some friends like to listen to music, but that doesn't work for me; listening to music makes it harder for me to sleep.
Thus, reading significantly helps my sleep. Additionally, I can fall asleep at any time and in any place, so I've never had issues with jet lag. This is because I rarely experience "sufficient" sleep; about five hours of sleep each day and around seven hours on weekends is the norm, and I always wake up naturally. This leads to me easily falling asleep when my body and mind are relaxed.
Moreover, I enjoy doing a "memoir" of the day after closing my eyes, reflecting on what I did throughout the day, similar to fast-forwarding through my daily life. Often, I fall asleep during this process, but it's just a replay of my life, not worrying about troublesome matters. If the day has been particularly bad, I switch to a different method, akin to "clearing my mind + meditation."
This approach works very well for me. During difficult times, I can enter a meditative state and still fall asleep, and the quality of my sleep is generally good.
I also have my own "hypnosis" techniques that usually help me fall asleep quickly, but if I subjectively don't want to sleep, I can stay awake quite well.
