The Sui team has launched a new public chain @RialoHQ

I just came across the funding news for Subzero Labs: they raised $20 million in the initial round, led by Pantera Capital, with participation from Coinbase Ventures, Hashed, Mysten Labs, and others.

I looked into the Subzero Labs team:

Co-founder and CEO Ade Adepoju was a founding engineer at Mysten Labs (December 2021 - February 2024).

Co-founder and CTO Lu Zhang was a senior software engineer at Mysten Labs (April 2022 - November 2024).

Rialo is an L1 developed by Subzero Labs, which can be understood as RWA L1. Or in the team's own words, "a public chain for the real world."

Traditional RWA public chains like Plume mainly focus on the asset representation layer, which maps real-world assets onto the chain through smart contracts. In contrast, Rialo's design philosophy points to a deeper integration paradigm (not merely mapping real-world assets onto the chain) and does not require middleware.

For example, through Rialo, developers can achieve:

Tokenization of anything: such as real estate, concert tickets, or even future earnings.

Access to real-world data: instantly using election results, sports scores, etc., in on-chain applications.

Reacting to real-world events: managing payroll, automatically resolving prediction markets, or liquidating positions when prices change.

Integration with Web2 applications: directly betting on prediction markets on X, sending encrypted payments via email, or verifying identity through social media accounts.

Using real-world information: applying for loans on-chain using FICO credit scores, bank statements, etc.

Of course, Rialo is still in the very early stages of its project lifecycle and has just emerged from stealth mode, so the aforementioned advantages are currently theoretical. I look forward to seeing more technical details.
