Can you file a case if you get scammed while exchanging USDT for cash offline? (Be careful about things you shouldn't do!)

Many people say that cash transactions are the safest way, handing over money and receiving coins at the same time. In reality, if you haven't been scammed, it's either because your transaction volume isn't large enough or you haven't been specifically targeted with a scam yet. This is human nature.

Today, I want to expose a scam involving an over-the-counter (OTC) cryptocurrency trader that was set up over the course of more than a month, exploiting the trader's desires.

That's why I never go out to meet with peers for gatherings or meals; business is business, and gatherings are gatherings. Never mix the two.

For cryptocurrency traders exchanging cash, it is indeed the safest transaction method for retail investors. However, these inexperienced large traders will definitely fall into traps set by others.

This is the kind of practical knowledge that no one teaches you on the internet. Many people spread rumors about things like playing in KTV, then connecting your phone to someone else's computer, or that your phone signal dropped and connected to a fake base station, causing you to lose your USDT. Why do people say their USDT was stolen this way?

Because they are too embarrassed to tell their wives that they went to KTV with two girls!!! This is a complete misunderstanding of the situation. Let me tell you the specific details of what really happened. This is a blatant scheme, and those who fall into it have no way out. Don't think you're clever and can always avoid scams.

There's a saying: just because you haven't been scammed yet doesn't mean you're smart or that you don't have money; it just means that the "script" suitable for you is still on its way, waiting for the right moment.

You are a cryptocurrency trader doing OTC cash transactions for USDT. At this moment, a scammer (Old Wang) drives up in a luxury car. He has built a very good persona, is capable, offers cash for USDT, and promises permanent after-sales service. You also want to find a channel for long-term sales. After your friend introduces you (usually this friend takes a cut of the profit), everyone discusses the cooperation details and decides to test the transaction with a small amount first.

After agreeing, Old Wang waves his hand and takes you to the most luxurious nightclub in the CBD in a Ferrari. As soon as you arrive, he says nothing and tells you to wash your hands first.

After a few drinks, a girl leans on your shoulder, saying, "Wow, you're so manly!" You and Old Wang then sing a duet: "Brother, you look thinner, looking tired, the journey can't hide the years on your face. Brother, you've changed, become silent, speak up about those things in your heart. Brother, our youth is like flowers that bloom after being weathered by wind and rain. Brother, you said you wouldn't fight anymore, just want to be a fool in love, just want a stable home." The lights dim, the music is dazzling, you lie on the sofa, and the girl climbs on top of you, moving herself…

You think Old Wang is generous, and he doesn't ask you to pay for anything. So you agree to test a small transaction the next day. You privately add Old Wang's contact information without telling your friend, the introducer, because you feel like you know Old Wang now. Why should you still share profits with the introducer?

This is your long-term strategy, leveraging industry resources and taking pride in it. The next day, you arrive at the luxurious tea house that Old Wang arranged. He says, "Brother, come often when you have time; this is all my own business." You are cautious, bringing your own water cup and not drinking anyone else's drinks or tea.

The formal transaction begins. Old Wang says, "Brother, since this is our first transaction, we all understand the industry rules, but I still need to emphasize the transaction process. There are three things: I will let you verify the cash first. After you verify it, you can take it away, and then you give me the USDT." You think this process is safe; you can verify the cash and have a subordinate take it to the car first, then give him the USDT.

The second rule is that I hope the transaction is private. There will only be the two of us in the room; other unrelated personnel can wait at the door. Recording and filming are strictly prohibited, and all other phones must be turned off. Restart your transaction phone; do not open any other apps except for the wallet.

The third rule is that because this is a long-term transaction, I will only trade with you, meaning I only recognize your wallet address. If you change the address or the person, I won't recognize it.

You think there’s no problem because if the phone is turned off and restarted, any recording software would not be activated. The wallet is the only address, and they only trade with you, so that’s fine.

Okay, you restart your phone, enter the lock screen password, open your digital asset wallet, and show the balance to the other party.

The cash is on the table; you count it and ask your subordinate to take it back to the car. You copy the other party's wallet address, then enter your wallet password and transfer the USDT to Old Wang.

The entire transaction process is smooth, straightforward, and honest. Old Wang laughs heartily, shakes your hand, and says, "Brother, it was a pleasure to cooperate. Let's go to KTV for some fun; it's on me."

The trap has been set, and you have fallen into it. Old Wang takes you to an even better KTV, where the girls are only wearing slippers, are in a state of undress, and have private bathrooms. When you go to the bathroom, you even ask the girl, "Why is there a bed in the bathroom…?"

You are still wanting more, and Old Wang pays for everything. You and Old Wang reach a strategic cooperation agreement, and the USDT you receive offline is sold to Old Wang. You are now a VIP at that tea house, but you change KTVs every time, and the girls are different each time. Last time, Old Wang even called two girls for you…

After a few transactions, your business grows larger and larger. Old Wang calls you again, saying, "Brother, I urgently need 3 million USDT tomorrow, with a markup of 0.1. Think of a way." You calculate in your mind that you will earn 80,000 from this deal. You don’t have that much money, so you mortgage your only house to get a loan of 3 million USDT, preparing to deliver it to Old Wang the next day.

You can't sleep all night, thinking about the girls, oh no, how easy it is to make money! You've really met a big brother who is helping you take off.

The next morning, as you prepare to leave, you routinely open your wallet. What? No balance? Is it frozen?

Refresh, balance 0. You disconnect from the internet and restart your phone, collapsing onto the sofa. It's over; cold sweat runs down your forehead. You try to recall what went wrong, but you have no clue. Let me recap for you why this cryptocurrency trader got scammed (stolen).

First, the tea house is Old Wang's base, with high-definition cameras in every direction, the kind that can see your cards when playing mahjong, called a "pig-killing room." The purpose of asking you to turn off your phone and restart it is that after you restart your phone, you must enter the lock screen password, and facial recognition is ineffective.

Thus, the cameras recorded your lock screen password. The small transaction test was to obtain your wallet password. The paper box transaction was to prevent you from changing your wallet address. With your lock screen password and wallet password, they only need to get your device (phone) to export your mnemonic phrase and private key for multi-signature.

So, during those three minutes in the KTV bathroom with two girls serving you, your phone left on the sofa was opened in 10 seconds. They accessed your wallet, entered the password, exported the private key, and took a photo, all in just 30 seconds. Meanwhile, you were busy touching the girl and singing, wanting to live another 500 years…

You collapse on the sofa, desperately trying to figure out what happened. You search everywhere and see those bloggers telling you that the girls plugged your phone into their computer. After all, you’ve been to college; you tell them they are talking nonsense.

No one tells you what really happened. Old Wang calls you again, "Brother, why haven't you arrived yet…" You reply, "What the hell…" But what does it have to do with the KTV girls?

More trolls will criticize, saying they never go to KTV with strangers or drink, just trade with you. How could you scam me?

In fact, there are many methods to set traps for retail investors, and they are even simpler. These cases are all from my fans who have personally fallen for them and sought my help; the tricks are similar, with the main method being high-definition cameras.

Old Deng was doing currency exchange business in Dubai and was targeted by online compatriots. Over a few months, they set a trap for him, introducing sellers and buyers, but in reality, these three people were in cahoots.

When chatting with the seller, the seller actively invited him to a tea house, which had high-definition cameras. Then they asked Old Deng if he had cash, testing a few transactions. After multiple transactions over a month, the cameras captured Old Deng's phone lock screen password and wallet password.

Then the seller treated him to a meal and took him to KTV for entertainment, which led to problems. The previous case also mentioned the KTV girl stealing USDT, but there was a small twist: cryptocurrency trader Old Deng brought his wife with him, so the seller did not succeed.

During the second meal, they set up another trap. Old Deng used an iPhone 15, and the seller bought an identical iPhone 15, with the same phone case, and downloaded all the same apps as Old Deng. During the meal, Old Deng's phone was placed on a nearby chair, and the seller's person switched the new phone for the old one. They immediately unlocked the lock screen password, clicked on the wallet, entered the password, exported the private key, and took a photo, all within 30 seconds, then switched back to the original phone.

If Old Deng had noticed his phone was missing within those 30 seconds, he would have just thought he took someone else's by mistake and wouldn't have suspected anything.

When the music ended and the crowd dispersed, Old Deng went home, thinking the seller was really generous and willing to share profits, unaware that an invisible net had already enveloped him.

At this point, buyer Boss D appears, also introduced by a compatriot, saying he wants to buy 1.6 million USDT. After agreeing on the price, Old Deng contacts seller C, who says he only recognizes cryptocurrency trader Old Deng, and USDT can only be transferred to Old Deng's wallet. Thinking the boss is bringing cash and he won't spend a penny, he plans to make a profit by flipping it.

During the hotel transaction, the boss took out cash. After the seller verified the funds, he transferred USDT to Old Deng, then left with the cash. Soon after, Old Deng found he couldn't transfer USDT, and the boss detained him.

The key is that Old Deng didn't have a god's-eye view and couldn't know which link went wrong. Of course, he couldn't have imagined that it was a 30-second moment a month ago when his phone left his side.

No solution! The boss wants Old Deng to compensate, and Old Deng, feeling guilty, prepares to give up his house to the boss.

So, those who say they haven't been scammed despite losing a lot of USDT are just not yet interesting enough for someone to set a trap for them. Without what I've written here, you would never know how your USDT disappeared.

Therefore, when cryptocurrency traders and retail investors engage in OTC transactions, they must use hardware wallets. Facial recognition is also not safe, as theft can occur. Thus, having familiar and trusted cryptocurrency traders in your life is very important.

You haven't encountered problems yet; it's just that no one has set a trap for you.
