Goldman Sachs stated that the number of global stocks purchased by hedge funds in May reached a record high. Previously, the U.S. stock market had experienced net selling for four consecutive months, with the selling volume in March nearing historical highs. Last week, these funds saw the largest increase in trading activity in two months, as long positions outweighed short sales.

Additionally, data from JPMorgan shows that the four-week average net inflow of hedge funds into the U.S. stock market reached its highest level since October 2024. This marks a significant reversal compared to the largest net selling in April since the pandemic began in 2020.
