Last night, I was talking to my child about "The Art of War" and explaining some of the strategies within it. He asked me: with so many military strategies, which one is the most important?
I thought for a long time and realized that although it discusses many tactics, the overarching theme throughout is actually the word "waiting"!
For example, it says: "The victorious army wins first and then seeks battle; the defeated army seeks battle first and then hopes for victory"; "A good warrior causes others to act but does not act himself"; true experts never rush into action but wait for the "moment" to arrive. "Waiting" is the prerequisite for victory.
Similarly, frequent trading is a form of self-anesthesia. It seems like "strong action," but in essence, it is an escape from the anxiety of uncertainty, which can really cause one to lose a lot of sensitivity and become numb and dull.
Numbness and dullness are very frightening for traders.
True experts can endure, can wait, can watch from the sidelines, and can execute their plans in an orderly manner. They prioritize strategy over direct confrontation, then trading, and lastly, military action; a good warrior causes others to act but does not act himself.
So, in this round, I am almost striving to balance life and trading, maintaining a good mental state to fully execute my trading strategy.
The goal is to make this system deeply ingrained, so that after proper training, it becomes a subconscious action, allowing for invincibility!
