Bahrain also pledged support for upcoming Asean-GCC summits. Anwar’s visit, at the invitation of Bahrain’s Crown Prince, aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation and benefit both nations’ economies. In early January 2025, Anwar met with Binance founder Changpeng Zhao and United Arab Emirates (UAE) officials to discuss potential cryptocurrency regulatory frameworks. The discussions, which took place during the Prime Minister’s three-day official visit to Abu Dhabi, centered on establishing policies that could recognize the cryptocurrency industry and modernize Malaysia’s financial system.
