Why is Bouncebit the most popular on Binance? Understanding the narrative of CeDeFi
Since the rapid development of DeFi, the asset reserves of centralized exchanges have visibly decreased. In the process, exchanges have also made different attempts:
For example, the popular exchange public chains in 2021 are essentially aimed at establishing a presence in the decentralized world and keeping assets in centralized exchanges. Also, the various DEX/Lending/Perp products developed by themselves are a bet on future trends. And recently, top exchanges have invested resources in promoting their own Web 3 wallets to retain users.
The trend of decentralized applications is irreversible. Interestingly, the emergence of Ethena and Bouncebit has allowed the combination of centralized exchanges and decentralized applications to bring new hope, enabling assets to flow back to centralized exchanges. Taking Bouncebit as an example, when a user pledges BTC, it is actually held by a centralized institution. Upon closer inspection, the name "Ceffu" (which is the renamed custody institution of Binance) indicates that pledging on Binance allows the assets to be directly mapped into the Binance account. On Bouncebit Premium, users can choose asset management strategies, and the pledged BTC can generate additional income (BTC cannot generate native income in the decentralized world), with current BTC strategies offering over 20% yield.
In summary, CeDeFi allows users to access financial management products in the decentralized world that were previously only available to large investors, and Binance has successfully brought funds back and generated trading within the exchange.
