Last week, the inscription "pols" on the Polygon chain caused a frenzy in Polygon network gas prices, and its off-chain price continued to soar (up to hundreds of times).

Subsequently, the FOMO sentiment in the market gradually spread to other well-known public chains and Layer2, triggering a new wave of inscription casting craze. However, most public chain inscriptions do not have a deeper narrative space and cannot be integrated with their own public chains. Short-term speculation factors are predominant, and there are greater market risks.

According to Dune's related data, the majority of inscription participants are Chinese; the well-known domestic second-hand trading platform "Idle Fish" has become an off-chain trading channel, and some participants have claimed on social media that "if it's not on Idle Fish, it's not considered a famous inscription."

Although the subsequent role or narrative of public chain inscriptions is not yet clear, the FOMO sentiment in the market has made public chain inscriptions popular among most people. Odaily Planet Daily has selected five public chain inscriptions with relatively high popularity for inventory.

Inventory of Public Chain Inscriptions

Fantom

As an established public chain, especially after Andre Cronje's return, Fantom has swept away its previous sluggish state and continued to develop, and the inscription craze has also reached Fantom.

The inscription on Fantom is named "ftms," with a total of 2.1 million pieces, nearly 1.1 million pieces have been created, with a progress of 52%, and 1996 participants.

The way to cast inscriptions on Fantom is similar to pols, both belonging to the EVM system, and they are created by transferring to oneself through a wallet. Detailed tutorials can be found on Dune.

BNB

BNB has also not escaped the inscription storm. The inscription is named "bnbw," with a total of 4,206,900 pieces, 5382 participants, and all have been created. According to Dune data, there are currently about 740,000 holding addresses.

zkSync

As one of the four kings of L2, zkSync has been continuously losing market attention due to the lack of coin issuance expectations. However, the zkSync inscription claims "if you don't issue coins, I will," with the inscription named "zkss," with a total of 210,000 pieces and over 8000 participants, all have been created. According to Dune data, there are currently 210,000 holding addresses.

The added value of casting inscriptions on zkSync is that it can to some extent brush zkSync airdrops. The appearance of this inscription may increase the interest of airdrop enthusiasts to a certain extent, but it also adds new challenges for zkSync's project party.

Avalanche

The inscription on the Avalanche chain is "aval," with a total of 21 million pieces, the same as pols, with about 82% remaining, and 8433 participants. According to Dune data, there are currently nearly 770,000 holding addresses.

Solana

In the past month, the strong rise of the Solana token SOL has driven the entire sector's ecological tokens to rise, further increasing market expectations for the Solana inscription project.

The SPL-20 token standard was created based on the Ordinals protocol BRC20, and the first inscription project "sols" has a total of 21,000 pieces, which have been cast. However, the process of casting these tokens is relatively complex, requiring the generation of NFT on one website, then engraving on another website, uploading a txt document for updating, and finally completing the casting.

Currently, according to the official website, 77,478 pieces have been cast, accounting for 36.9% of the total, but due to the difficulty of casting inscriptions, the success rate for most people is relatively low.
