According to Bloomberg, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is expected to allow the first batch of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) based on Ethereum futures. Recently, nearly twelve companies including ProShares, Volatility Shares, Bitwise, and Roundhill have submitted applications in the past few weeks, planning to launch Ethereum futures ETFs.
In terms of protocol development, Ethereum has launched the official test network Devnet 8 for the Deneb/Cancun upgrade. Devnet 8 is the first dedicated test network that includes all finalized Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) for the Cancun/Deneb upgrade.
Cancun/Deneb is the next major upgrade for Ethereum, expected to be released later this year, including five EIPs designed to add more storage space for data and reduce costs.
