Sei Airdrop Complete Guide: Cross-chain Airdrops for Users on Multiple Mainstream Public Chains

The Sei airdrop covers every corner of the Web3 universe, representing a true "cross-chain" airdrop that recognizes pioneering users of blockchain technology from many ecosystems.

In 2023, most users of popular blockchains may be whitelisted and eligible to participate.

The airdrop will begin claiming upon the launch of the public mainnet.

Check eligibility and participate in the cross-chain airdrop here: https://app.sei.io/

Sei is an open-source, permissionless Layer 1 blockchain designed specifically for the fundamental use case of blockchain - the ability to exchange digital assets. With the continuous growth of digital assets (from NFTs and gaming assets to DeFi), the demand for high-performance blockchains is also increasing. In response to this demand, Sei aims to be the ideal choice for high-performance, top-tier user experience applications in Web3.

Whitelisted users must bridge eligible assets to Sei.

The Sei Foundation closely collaborates with partners to identify active users on the following blockchains: Solana, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Polygon, BNB Chain, Osmosis. These blockchains were chosen because their users represent the majority of today's blockchain activity. Any active users on these blockchains may be eligible to participate.

The first step will be to create a Sei wallet, such as Compass. More Sei wallets may be ready for launch in the coming days. If you are installing these wallets for the first time, follow the instructions and remember to keep your mnemonic phrase safe. If you were part of the Big Atlantic 2 test and installed these wallets, ensure that you have the latest version of the wallet, have imported your wallet into a mainnet-ready wallet, and have connected to the Pacific-1 Mainnet.

Simply follow the instructions on the "Airdrop" tab to link your existing off-chain wallet to your Sei wallet address and bridge any listed tokens on the Sei bridging interface.

The Sei Foundation provides a simple frontend to maintain continuity of the experience, however, the underlying bridging protocol is completely separate from the Sei Foundation. The Sei Foundation has no impact on the Wormhole and Axelar protocols. You can learn more about how their technology is implemented with Sei here:

Eligible tokens include:

Wormhole:

Ethereum: USDC, ETH, WBTC,

Arbitrum: USDC.e (arbUSDC),

Polygon: USDC (maticUSDC),

Optimism: USDC (opUSDC),

Solana: USDC (solUSDC),

BNB: USDT (bnbUSDT)

IBC (Osmosis only):

ATOM

OSMO

Axelar:

Ethereum: axlUSDC

Arbitrum: axlUSDC

Polygon: axlUSDC

BNB Chain: axlUSDC

FAQ:

My bridging transaction is pending, how do I know if there is an issue?

Bridging is entirely handled by Wormhole or Axelar, depending on the asset. You can visit the Wormhole Discord or access Axelar Support for more information. Please note: when bridging from Ethereum, transactions may take up to 30 minutes to reach Sei. This delay is due to the operation of the Wormhole and Axelar bridging protocols and does not reflect the finality time or performance of Sei. For example, as assets are transferred from the source chain (in this case, Ethereum), they are being processed by the bridging protocol (in this case, Wormhole).

Are there limitations on assets bridged in and out of Sei?

Any limitations are determined by Wormhole and Axelar setting their parameters. The Sei Foundation has no control or say in this process. Wormhole's standard procedure is to launch with default daily and large transaction limits on a new blockchain, which applies to bridging in and out of Sei - please note this and be aware that these limits will increase over time. Axelar also limits bridging axlUSDC to/from Sei to $3 million every 6 hours.

How many airdrops can I receive?

Participants can receive a maximum of one airdrop per external whitelisted address associated with a Sei wallet.

Once I claim one airdrop tier, can I attempt again using the same Sei wallet/external chain wallet?

No, you cannot.

Does linking my wallet require sharing my private key?

No, it does not. Your private key will never be shared or revealed during this process.

I participated in Sei's Big Atlantic testnet and/or Ambassador Program, where can I find my rewards?

More information about this can be found in the Atlantic Rewards article.
