PANews April 27 news, Aave DAO is reviewing a proposal titled 《[ARFC]Pause AAVE Buyback》, which intends to officially suspend AAVE token buybacks. The proposal states that due to an attack on Kelp's LayerZero rsETH cross-chain on April 18, it resulted in uncollateralized rsETH flowing into Aave V3 markets across multiple chains. Aave has urgently frozen reserves related to rsETH and wrsETH and adjusted WETH interest rates. Since the current distribution of rsETH losses, asset recovery, and the scale of potential bad debts are still unclear, the proposal suggests pausing the use of protocol income for buybacks until the situation is clarified, in order to reserve funds for possible coordinated disposal solutions, and the subsequent pace of buybacks will be reassessed based on the progress of the event.
