PANews April 19 news, regarding the theft of 116,500 rsETH from Kelp, a preliminary analysis by Slow Mist's Yu Xian stated: the LayerZero cross-chain used by the attacker is a 1/1 DVN configuration, which is the classic "single signature" configuration, while the default recommendation in LayerZero's official documentation is 2/2. This "single signature single point" might also have been compromised through social engineering methods (this is just a guess, specifics await investigation). The attacker successfully made off with 116,500 rsETH on Ethereum, and actually attempted twice more to steal an additional 40,000 rsETH, but failed. The attacker's transaction fees came from Tornado Cash. The 116,500 rsETH was laundered in a dispersed manner, putting pressure on various staking platforms, especially Aave, which is now facing huge bad debts.
