Kevin Kelly's Life Advice: In a life full of choices, we can all become the masters of our own destiny!
The accuracy of the biological clock is terrifying.
Last night, I was so sleepy before seven that I felt like a dog.
I woke up at four in the morning and couldn't fall back asleep no matter what.
Kevin Kelly says:
Life is all about choices,
So let's choose and record them,
This book I flipped through on the plane is quite good!
On this long flight,
I brought Kevin Kelly's "Precious Life Advice,"
A book that's easy to flip through,
It contains some scattered life advice,
Written down by the old man at different stages of his life,
Which he considers quite valuable.
I originally just wanted to skim through it,
But I found myself unable to stop reading.
After finishing, I suddenly realized:
The core message the old man wants to convey is actually just one sentence:
Life is a series of choices—
We can choose which path to take;
We can choose to be optimistic;
We can choose when to speed up and when to slow down;
Choose to change ourselves when needed;
Choose to live each day with gratitude.
The moment we realize we have the power to choose,
We regain control of our lives.
1️⃣ Gratitude is a superpower that we can continuously upgrade:
The old man also said:
Our sense of gratitude can awaken all the beauty within us,
And it is a capability that can be continually enhanced.
When you actively record moments worth being grateful for every day,
You will find that you can increasingly see the good around you,
Life becomes more pleasing to the eye,
Healing yourself and healing others!
For example, the gratitude moments I can choose today:
Grateful and cherish that my parents made me a delicious meal and gave me their reminders and advice before I left;
Grateful for the inspiration from the many topics discussed with friends in the 10K Clubs;
Grateful for BN's thoughtful itinerary and airport pickup service;
Grateful that the front desk at the Dubai hotel remembered I stayed there last year and greeted me with a welcoming smile.
The process of writing these down,
Allowed me to relive all the wonderful things of the day in my mind.
2️⃣ What if I encounter procrastination at work?
Procrastination is not the problem; distraction is the problem!
On the plane, I saw a shocking suggestion in the book:
When faced with procrastination, do not fight it.
Turn procrastination into the most important task of the day.
Set a five-minute countdown,
During these five minutes, do nothing.
No work, no phone, no chatting, no scrolling through content.
After five minutes, you will find:
You might be eager to start working.
Because what hinders our actions is not the unwillingness to work,
But the fact that we want to do too many things.
The old man said:
The greatest enemy of efficiency is never procrastination,
But distraction.
This makes so much sense,
When I read this, I truly had an epiphany.
3️⃣ Conclusion: Choice is freedom
Every choice you make today determines your life tomorrow.
You can choose to ignore;
Or you can choose to live life the way you like.
If you finish reading this and don't know what to do now,
I give you the simplest advice:
Before you sleep tonight, write down three moments you are grateful for on paper.
Practice your power of choice.
Practice your gratitude.
Practice the ability to take control of your life.
Starting from this moment.
