Eric He: When we founded LBank, our team consisted of only 20 people, and we were essentially painting our dreams on a blank canvas in the industry. Our strategy can be divided into two phases. As I mentioned earlier, we rapidly launched popular Meme tokens like GOAT, Trump, and the previously hot Binance basket of Meme coins. But in the second phase, we focus on deep cultivation: after the wave recedes, the market will return to rationality, and users will refocus on the intrinsic value of projects. At this point, having "real substance" becomes crucial. Therefore, we have proactively laid out the "asset complement" plan and the "five strategies," consciously enriching the platform's core asset pool. In 2024, we launched over 300 high-quality assets at once, covering various sectors such as public chain ecosystems, DeFi, AI, and NFTs, and conducted five seasons of "liquidity reconnaissance" to continuously optimize trading depth and experience. Q: Safety and compliance have always been the lifeblood of an exchange's survival. As we understand, LBank has maintained a zero-security-incident record over the past ten years and has established a $100 million risk reserve. What specific measures have you taken to ensure the safety of user assets? What are your future plans regarding transparency and compliance?

Eric He: Safety is undoubtedly the lifeline of a trading platform. The fact that we have come this far over the past decade is largely due to our robust risk control and security system. Our measures can be divided into two levels: technical and institutional.

On the technical level, we have established an industry-leading intelligent risk control system, incorporating artificial intelligence and big data analysis. In the past quarter alone, our system successfully intercepted over 2,000 potential security threats, preventing more than $300 million in potential losses. Our rapid response mechanism can intercept an average of 500 suspicious transactions per month. Additionally, we have partnered with Elliptic, CertiK, and others to integrate the most advanced on-chain anti-money laundering (KYT) tools, providing real-time alerts for abnormal fund flows. These measures keep us one step ahead when facing risks such as hacking and fraud.

On the institutional level, we have built a multi-layered protection network. First, we have user asset isolation storage and multi-signature wallet mechanisms to ensure that even if a single node encounters issues, user asset security is not compromised. Secondly, as you mentioned, we established a $100 million risk protection fund early on, which can be activated to compensate users in extreme situations, acting as a "last insurance" for investors. Furthermore, we place great emphasis on permission management and internal controls, and there has not been a single security incident caused by internal management oversight in the past decade. It can be said that "zero incidents" is not luck, but the result of being vigilant and steady every day.

As for transparency and compliance, this is also a key area we will focus on moving forward. We have obtained compliance licenses in multiple countries worldwide, including Italy's digital asset business license (VASP), Canada's MSB, and Australia's digital currency trading license. In the future, we will continue to steadily advance our compliance layout, allowing users in more countries and regions to enjoy legal and compliant services. At the same time, we plan to soon launch a Proof of Reserves system, enabling users to verify at any time whether the platform's reserves match user assets 100%. I believe that in an era of increasingly refined regulation, this level of transparency will become a standard for exchanges to earn user trust.

Eric He: The initiatives you mentioned stem from a belief: the crypto industry is not just about technology and profit, but about the connection and value of "people." There is always a principle in LBank's community culture—"people-oriented, acting for good."

Let me give a few examples. Last year, we supported local blockchain university clubs in multiple countries and held Web3 summer training camps to provide young people interested in crypto with an opportunity to delve into the industry and cultivate future developers and entrepreneurs. This is essentially sowing seeds for the future of the industry.

For instance, after disasters like the earthquake in Turkey and the typhoon in Japan, we immediately contacted local users and communities to provide assistance within our capabilities. Although people in the crypto space come from all over the world, when disaster strikes, we are all part of a shared fate; the more we do, the warmer the entire community becomes.

Additionally, during unexpected events in the industry like Slerf and DEXX, when some project parties faced difficulties, we decided to step up and establish a custodial compensation fund to help affected users and teams through tough times. Some may see this as "interfering," but we believe it reflects LBank's responsibility: exchanges are not just profit-seeking institutions but also guardians of the industry ecosystem. We hope the crypto world develops in a more positive direction rather than being filled with fraud and dishonesty.

For LBank, these initiatives may seem to increase costs in the short term, but in the long run, they strengthen our reputation and user trust. I often say, "A small act of kindness can spread and grow." Every small good deed we do takes root in the hearts of users around the world, ultimately converging into the unique warmth of LBank. This warmth is both our foundation and our most valuable asset.

Q: Looking ahead to the future from the milestone of the tenth anniversary, what stage do you think the current market is in? Some say a new crypto super cycle is brewing; do you agree? What are your judgments on future industry trends and directions?

Eric He: One could say that the current market is on the eve of "ready to take off." Although short-term signals are still somewhat ambiguous, we see many positive signs.

First, the integration of traditional finance and crypto finance is becoming increasingly evident. In the past year, various countries have accelerated the approval of Bitcoin spot ETFs, large institutions have begun issuing tokenized bonds, and stablecoins are being more widely accepted. These signs indicate that traditional capital is entering the market in large quantities, and the crypto market is likely to enter a "turbocharged" growth phase. Moreover, this round of growth is different from previous bull markets dominated by retail investors; it is driven more by institutional capital. The influx of substantial long-term funds will, on one hand, bring higher liquidity and a more mature market structure, making the market more stable; on the other hand, we must also be wary of new challenges such as changes in the regulatory environment and market manipulation.

Secondly, the penetration of crypto technology into the real world will deepen. I believe that in the coming years, we will see blockchain playing a greater role in productivity, social collaboration, and wealth distribution. In simple terms, crypto will no longer be limited to virtual asset trading but will become a tool for enhancing the efficiency of real-world operations. Concepts like decentralized identity and supply chain finance, which may seem cutting-edge today, could very well become major trends tomorrow.

In summary, I am very optimistic about the future. If a new super cycle arrives, its scale and impact will be unprecedented. Of course, we will also remain clear-headed and pay attention to risk management. In short, the opportunities are immense, but only those who are prepared and adhere to long-termism can truly seize them.

Q: As a seasoned practitioner with ten years of experience in the industry, could you share your investment/trading philosophy? What advice do you have for ordinary investors, especially the younger generation?

Eric He: This is a very meaningful question. I have always believed that crypto investment is ultimately a practice in mindset and cognition. My personal trading philosophy can be summarized in a few points:

  • Don’t expect to make all the money in one cycle. The market has its ups and downs; it’s impossible to get rich overnight. Instead of envying others who became wealthy overnight with Meme coins, it’s better to view investment from a multi-cycle perspective—looking long-term, you will find that bull and bear cycles are normal patterns, and those who persist are often the big winners.
  • Value research and learning. In my view, before investing money, you should invest time in learning. The crypto space changes too quickly, with new things emerging every day. You can start with small amounts to explore, or even learn through simulated trading or copy trading, and once you have developed your own methodology, it’s not too late to increase your investment. Avoid blindly following others.
  • Respect the market and focus on risk management. I set stop-loss orders for every trade and never go all in.
