Not long after FBI Director Kash Patel, Utah Governor Spencer Cox, and Utah County Sheriff Mike Smith announced the arrest of Tyler Robison, the 22-year-old electrician apprentice accused of gunning down controversial political activist Charlie Kirk, a memecoin bearing the suspect’s name appeared on Pumpswap Friday afternoon.

Authorities allege Robinson shot and killed Kirk in Orem, Utah, on Wednesday during Kirk’s scheduled “American Comeback Tour” at Utah Valley University (UVU). Fox News reported that Robinson had “become more political in recent years,” according to a family member.

Governor Cox referenced a conversation about Kirk that Robinson had with the family member. “In that conversation, Robinson mentioned Charlie Kirk was coming to UVU,” Cox said. “They talked about why they didn’t like him and the viewpoints that he had.”

Ultimately, it was Robinson’s family that convinced the suspect to turn himself in after a nationwide manhunt ensued in the wake of the shooting.
