Michael Saylor, co-founder and executive chairman of Strategy, has seen his net worth increase by $1 billion since the beginning of the year, coinciding with his first entry into the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Saylor ranks 491st on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, with an estimated net worth of $7.37 billion, reflecting a 15.80% increase since January 1. According to Google Finance data, during the same period, his company Strategy (MSTR) saw its stock price rise nearly 12%.

The index tracks the 500 richest people in the world based on net worth. Saylor has approximately $650 million in cash, with the remaining $6.72 billion in equity in Strategy.

Saylor joins other billionaire figures in the crypto industry on the Bloomberg list, including Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong (ranked 234th, net worth $12.8 billion) and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) (ranked 40th, net worth $44.5 billion).

Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried was also on the list until the collapse of the crypto exchange in November 2022.

Strategy is known for its aggressive Bitcoin (BTC) accumulation strategy. According to Strategy Tracker data, as of the time of writing, the company holds approximately 659,739 Bitcoins, valued at $7.29 billion, accounting for about 3.42% of the Bitcoin supply.

Shirish Jajodia, CFO and head of investor relations at Strategy, recently stated, "Our way of buying Bitcoin does not affect the price of Bitcoin."

Strategy's stock closed up 2.53% on Friday, but has fallen 12.4% over the past 30 days.

Previously, Strategy was not included in the S&P 500 index in August. This outcome disappointed some market participants who had expected the Bitcoin-accumulating company to be selected.

On Friday, Cointelegraph reported that despite the company meeting all requirements and being included in the Nasdaq 100 index, Strategy could still be denied entry if the committee responsible for evaluating companies vetoes its inclusion after considering "overall integrity."
