Frontier stablecoin (FRNT) is a stablecoin authorized by the state of Wyoming, set to launch on the Hedera blockchain following the mainnet launch in August.
In a notification on Thursday, Hedera announced that the Wyoming Stable Token Committee, responsible for issuing the stablecoin, has selected the blockchain as the candidate platform for FRNT after reviewing potential networks and approved the proposal.
Reportedly, the stablecoin will be available on seven blockchains at launch: Ethereum, Solana, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Polygon, Optimism, and Base.
"The committee chose Hedera as the candidate platform because its technological advantages align with our commitment to security and compliance," said Anthony Apollo, Executive Director of the Wyoming Stable Token Committee.
Although many expected FRNT to be available for purchase within days of its August launch, as of Thursday, the Wyoming Stable Token Committee's website indicated that users do not yet have this option.
Hedera stated that information on purchasing the token will be announced "soon."
Despite the apparent softening of federal policies and regulations affecting cryptocurrency companies under President Donald Trump's leadership, state governments still hold significant power in determining how to handle digital assets.
Wyoming is one of the first states to recognize cryptocurrency as legal tender, attracting numerous companies, legislators campaigning on digital assets, and conferences.
Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken announced in June that it would relocate its global headquarters to Cheyenne, citing "recognition of supportive policymakers and constructive regulations for cryptocurrency."
The U.S. Innovation Project is an advocacy organization announced during the Wyoming conference, which hosted an event where Department of Justice officials suggested fundamental changes to enforcement cases involving cryptocurrency and blockchain.
