Ripple shared on social media platform X on Aug. 5 that digital asset custody firm BDACS has added support for XRP, allowing institutional clients in South Korea to access and manage the asset through its platform. BDACS stated:

We’re thrilled to offer custody support for XRP, one of the most popular digital assets in Korea, to our institutional clients. This launch strengthens our long-standing partnership with Ripple and underscores our commitment to the Korean market.

The firm also emphasized the integration of XRP into major Korean exchanges, enabling regulated trading access for institutional investors. BDACS explained: “With our recent integrations into Korea’s top exchanges—Upbit, Coinone, and Korbit, clients can now deploy XRP across the largest trading venues in Korea in a regulatory compliant way.” These developments align with a growing demand in South Korea for compliant digital asset infrastructure, especially among institutional market participants. The rollout highlights XRP’s entrenched role in the region’s crypto ecosystem and signals BDACS’ intent to scale services in response to regulatory clarity.

As part of a broader initiative, BDACS formalized a strategic partnership with Ripple on Feb. 26 to further develop institutional-level custody and digital asset infrastructure in South Korea. Under this agreement, BDACS will leverage Ripple Custody to secure and manage XRP, RLUSD, and other digital assets, while contributing to the expansion of the XRP Ledger ecosystem. This collaboration aligns with the Financial Services Commission’s regulatory roadmap and aims to support Korea’s emerging digital finance sector. BDACS CEO Harry Ryoo stated:

BDACS will provide a secure and reliable custody service to support Ripple’s pioneering blockchain initiatives. Ultimately, this partnership will enable both companies to enhance and expand the digital asset ecosystem.

Ripple’s Fiona Murray commented: “We’re excited to partner with BDACS to bring Ripple’s custody solution to institutional investors in South Korea.”
