Recently, we have seen that the marketing slogan of BitVM, "Realizing arbitrary computation on the Bitcoin chain," has been taken seriously by many people, thinking that BitVM can truly simulate the effect of EVM on the chain.

This slogan is actually a marketing gimmick. Currently, BitVM can only be used to achieve fraud proofs on the Bitcoin chain, essentially using Bitcoin scripts to build a fraud proof verification protocol to solve second-layer security issues. Apart from this, there are basically no other use cases.

The ZK verification programs implemented with Bitcoin scripts typically require several gigabytes, making it impossible to run on the Bitcoin chain. This problem may be alleviated after the OP_CAT opcode is implemented, but it may still take at least a year for this to happen.
