On May 5th, the ETHGlobal Sydney hackathon with a total prize pool of $100,000 announced the 8 projects that made it to the finals. They are Relief Link, HoverChain, Retake//Regen, Cache Coherence, 0xPoll, Roman Kyoto, Zeke, and AlibudaHabitBuilder. This article takes you through the relevant information of these 8 projects:
Relief Link Relief Link is an innovative service designed to automatically distribute aid immediately after a disaster occurs, using blockchain technology for efficient and secure operations. The project integrates Chainlink oracles for real-time disaster monitoring and automated transactions, ensuring timely assistance to affected individuals within a specific area. The system engages users through Unlimit and third-party network account abstractions, even those new to cryptocurrency, to easily utilize fiat currency options.
Relief Link uses Worldcoin for identity verification to maintain system integrity and prevent fraud, ensuring each verified user receives aid distribution. The platform utilizes PredictHQ's API to track and analyze the impact of various natural disasters (such as floods, fires, and earthquakes) within a 100 km radius of user registration locations. These data are visualized on the website, providing insights into recent disaster trends in the Asia-Pacific region.
HoverChain HoverChain is a Google Chrome extension tool for scrolling through blockchain data. By selecting a blockchain identifier (such as an Ethereum address or contract), a detailed pop-up window displays important statistics such as wallet balance, recent transactions, and available smart contract interactions. HoverChain accesses the latest blockchain data using Alchemy API and Mantle Block Explorer API.
Retake//Regen Eigenlayer AVS public product that allows Ethereum validators to offset a small portion of network carbon emissions by committing to purchase and return high-quality carbon credit quotas.
Validators register (opt-in) in the Restake//Regen AVS and choose a % commitment to the total Ethereum network (between 0.0001% and 1%), then must send the required amount of CHAR to the Restake//Regen fund pool contract every epoch (28 days) and withdraw regularly. Receipts for each donation are stored in the fund pool.
Cache Coherence Cache Coherence uses CCIP and World Coin extension account abstraction smart wallet to recover lost keys. Cache Coherence is an extension of the EIP-4337 account abstraction smart contract wallet, deployable on any EVM chain. The wallet includes setting WorldCoin ID. WorldCoin ID provides a secondary identity verification that can be used as a recovery method in case of key loss.
However, the number of blockchains supporting WorldCoin login verification methods is limited. Therefore, CCIP acts as a bridge between the account wallet and WorldCoin validator. CCIP is bidirectional, allowing proofs to be sent from the account to WorldCoin. Upon successful or failed verification, the response is sent back to the account via CCIP.
0xPoll The political voting platform 0xPoll aims to create an application that allows users to associate their WorldID with detailed voter roll information and interact with a platform reflecting Australian federal parliamentary legislation without disclosing any personal information. 0xPoll allows users to vote on individual legislation, with voting results collected at the voter level to effectively lobby incumbent legislators.
Roman Kyoto Roman Kyoto is a cross-chain multi-asset shielded pool (MASP) that allows users to deposit and privately transfer ERC-20 tokens. Users can withdraw tokens from the pool at any time and can withdraw the desired amount (up to the current balance in MASP).
Currently, Roman Kyoto only supports private single-chain deposits, withdrawals, and transfers. The CCIP contract has been created but requires additional integration for cross-chain private transfers.
Zeke Zeke is the first ZK-driven PayPal deposit and withdrawal solution with native Telegram integration and account abstraction, enabling a seamless user experience. Zeke allows users to enter (convert fiat currency into stablecoins) and exit through Telegram Bot via off-chain payment channels (such as Venmo and PayPal) in a fully decentralized peer-to-peer manner.
Current fiat deposit and withdrawal providers face issues with cumbersome user processes, inconvenience, and the need for a large amount of KYC data input. Zeke aims to address these issues by providing users with an easy-to-use interface and operability through a Telegram Bot.
AlibudaHabitBuilder The AlibudaHabitBuilder project encourages people to develop new habits through a unique pledging system. Users can register by clicking three times through the Base smart wallet. To participate in the challenge, users will pledge a certain amount of funds as a commitment to the habits they wish to develop.
AlibudaHabitBuilder offers two pathways for habit development: one targeting mental health and the other targeting physical health. To improve mental health, participants are encouraged to enjoy nature and engage in offline interactions with friends. Confirmation of participation can be done by clicking ARX NFC at designated locations. For physical health, the project is integrating with Strava so that exercise records can be directly logged into Alibuda. Participants who maintain these habits have the chance to win NFTs and the funds of those who fail.
If participants fail to maintain their habits, 50% of their funds will automatically be used for public goods. The remaining 50% will be used to reward those who stick to their habits.
