Today is March 24, 2024, the first anniversary of the zkSync 2.0, also known as the zkSync Era mainnet launch. Everyone thought that something big would happen on this special day, but nothing happened at all.
I have been operating my personal Twitter account for almost a year. If you had paid attention to me earlier, you might know that before this, I was actually a stock blogger, but no one paid attention to me.
The original tweet I quoted was the first tweet in my life that had over ten thousand views, which was a tutorial on zkSync for beginners (actually planned for friends, but since the content was already written and my friends didn't post it for weeks, I couldn't stand it and posted it myself, and it unexpectedly became popular). The support for this content directly prompted me to seriously write various tutorials on zkSync.
In the past year, I have written over a hundred tutorials, with more than half of them about zkSync, and mostly about L0. I am actually an amateur in the field of tutorials. I didn't focus on tutorials before. The first airdrop I received on-chain was imToken's LON, which was a pleasant surprise, and the first time I specifically interacted to earn an airdrop was with Gitcoin, where I earned my first significant on-chain rewards, GTC. When the DeFi summer market entered a downturn in June 2021, I took advantage of the low gas fees and followed @Gordon0087 to earn my first tens of thousands of U in DYDX, which was extremely simple and highly profitable. At that time, I felt that the money in the crypto world was really easy to come by. It was terrifying. After that, I participated in various interactive activities to earn rewards. I basically got involved in many major projects, including the other three of the "L2 Four Kings".
Speaking of #zkSync, zkSync was actually one of the first projects I started using and participating in for earning rewards. The zkSync 1.0 mainnet was launched as early as June 15, 2020. I started interacting with zkSync when I was earning rewards on Gitcoin at the end of 2020. I remember that at the end of 2021, zkSync airdrops started circulating, and then I started continuous interactions. At that time, the only zkSync interactions available were donations to Gitcoin and transactions with Zigzag. Throughout 2022, I was eagerly anticipating the release of zks tokens, and when they announced the launch of zkSync 2.0 at the end of the year, I thought the tokens would be released soon, but as we all know, the result was that they said to wait another year. Now it's 2024.
Is it hard to endure? Very hard!
It's been almost three years, who the hell can bear it? Even if I were Nezha, I should have been born by now!!
In the past year, while earning rewards with zkSync, I have been continuously producing tutorials. As more and more people started writing about it, the homogeneity became very high, so I only chose to share the parts that I was really doing. I have also cursed zkSync and questioned the fairness of the godly NFT airdrop. In fact, it was the joy of sharing that supported me to persist in earning rewards. Otherwise, I would have given up long ago.
Earning rewards is a long-term activity. If you don't have insider information, all you can do is to do your best and leave the rest to fate.
In the process of operating my Twitter account, I did not deliberately create a persona. In my opinion, the so-called persona is just a way to make oneself look different from the original self. It's essentially hypocritical. But most people are trying hard to present themselves as more glamorous than their original selves to satisfy their vanity. So, besides the practical content, Twitter is also a place for me to ramble, and I just say whatever comes to mind, babbling nonsense. Those who know me also know that I am like this in real life, saying whatever comes to mind. I like to speak my mind and occasionally be witty.
Back to zkSync. After Stark issued tokens, zks is the only one among the L2 Four Kings that has not issued tokens. The zkRollup sector still has the most potential to develop, and it is still #zksync that has the most hope, otherwise, are you pinning your hopes on Scroll or Linea? Or on Stark, which has just issued tokens, or the second son of the old man Polygon, zkEVM?
I believe that the zkSync team @thematterlabs is the best L2 team in terms of technology, and they are a team that does what they say (although I do not approve of some of their practices). For example, zkSync said that the more users there are, the lower the gas fees, and it gradually became the L2 with the lowest gas fees. After the unfair godly NFT airdrop, zkSync said they would empower the godly NFT, and one day they really did empower the godly NFT in a grand manner. I was so angry that I couldn't speak for a day, and in the end, I bought dozens of godly NFTs at a high price in the secondary market. My original view was that the godly NFT was unfair and criticized by the community, so the official would downplay the influence of the godly NFT, but I never expected this. I haven't sold any of my godly NFTs so far, even when the price rose to 0.15.
