According to a report from Vijesti, the reversal by the Appeals Court highlighted significant procedural breaches, citing a lack of clear rationale in the High Court’s initial decision, which had originally allowed for Do Kwon‘s expedited extradition to the U.S. for various criminal charges. Then the court decided to overturn the U.S. extradition process two days ago.

Following the recent judgment, attention now moves to South Korea, the scene of accusations connected to Kwon’s involvement with Terraform Labs. The National Police Agency of South Korea enlisted the aid of Interpol, the global police organization, to facilitate Kwon’s transfer from Montenegro, a move that appears to have influenced the High Court’s latest decision.

Kwon and his business partner’s arrest at Podgorica airport on March 23 last year marked the beginning of their legal troubles. Utilizing forged Costa Rican passports during passport control on a flight to Dubai, the pair’s capture added a layer of complexity to the case, intertwining criminal acts with the broader implications of their activities in the cryptocurrency sector across two major financial jurisdictions.
