Recently, the blockchain intelligence platform Arkham has compiled a list of the top 10 individuals with the largest holdings of encrypted assets. The dashboard provides detailed information on token holdings, historical balances, asset distribution, and historical daily balances for each individual's encrypted assets.
The data shows that the top five holders on the list currently have a total of $3.631 billion in digital assets. However, over 35% (approximately $1.283 billion) of this amount is marked as "inaccessible." This article will provide an overview of who is in the top 10 and their respective holdings.
Note: Arkham's ranking statistics are as of March 2024, but the specific on-chain holdings are the latest data. In addition, the addresses counted by Arkham are not all inclusive.
Justin Sun
Justin Sun's encrypted wallet holds $1.089 billion, ranking first. His assets mainly include $276 million in USDD, $242 million in TRX, $135 million in BTT, and $97.38 million in BTC (1457 coins), as well as $12.9 million in SHIB, $7.69 million in WIN, and $4.41 million in FLOKI, among others.
According to blockchain analyst Yu Jin's statistics, Sun currently holds the following main assets through multiple Tron and Ethereum addresses: 598,900 ETH (valued at approximately $19.02 billion), 5.364 billion TRX (valued at approximately $6.02 billion), 458 million USDD (valued at $458 million), 315 million TUSD (valued at $315 million), 300 million USDT (valued at $300 million), and 158.9T BTT (valued at $2.09 billion), with a total value of approximately $4.165 billion.
Rain Lohmus
Ranked second is Rain Lohmus, the founder of LHV Bank, with holdings of encrypted currencies worth $815 million. Lohmus's wallet mostly contains ETH ($815 million) and Xdata ($1800).
However, it is worth noting that Lohmus is unable to access his wallet due to a lost key, which also prevents him from accessing the 250,000 ETH he acquired during the initial coin offering (ICO) in 2014. Rain Lohmus has expressed willingness to share these ETH if someone can recover the wallet.
Vitalik Buterin
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin ranks third, with assets worth $803.8 million in his wallet, primarily in ETH, valued at approximately $800 million. Additionally, he holds $830,000 in WETH, as well as some KNC and SDOG tokens.
Stefan Thomas
Ranked fourth is Stefan Thomas, former CTO of Ripple, with all his assets in Bitcoin (7003 coins), valued at approximately $468 million.
However, Stefan Thomas is also unable to access his IronKey Bitcoin wallet. After eight failed attempts, Thomas has two more chances, after which the wallet will be permanently encrypted.
The encryption recovery company Unciphered had proposed to unlock his wallet, and the team was able to access data similar to that on IronKey after "200 trillion attempts." This may bypass the 10-attempt limit on the drive. However, Stefan Thomas has not agreed to this.
James Fickel
James Fickel, founder of Amaranth Foundation, has wallet assets worth $459 million, including $393 million in AWSTETH, $65.94 million in AUSDC, $200,000 in ETH, $11,700 in USDC, and small amounts of OP, COMP, and STETH.
Patricio Worthalter
POAP founder Patricio Worthalter holds approximately $235 million in encrypted assets, including $144 million in ETH, $65.26 million in WETH, $24.53 million in RPL, $114,000 in ENS, $10,493 in USDC, $4,980 in ARB, and small amounts of GODS and GATE.

Whale Luggis ( @luggisdoteth ) holds $47.75 million in encrypted assets, including $12.4 million in STETH, $12.07 million in MKR, $10.73 million in AWSTETH, $8.42 million in ETH, $2.33 million in SNX, $1.79 million in GHO, and small amounts of WRLD.
smartestmoney.eth
The whale smartestmoney.eth currently holds approximately $81,600 in assets (PANews note: After Arkham compiled the list, there have been several large transfers recently, including a transfer of $18.66 million worth of ETH to Binance, so the on-chain holdings are relatively small). This includes $43,200 in SUDO and $25,800 in USDT, among others.
Winslow Strong
Winslow Strong, Managing Director of Cluster Capital, holds $30.61 million in encrypted assets, including $23.26 million in AWBTC, $4.45 million in GRT, $880,000 in SQT, $590,000 in SWISE, and small amounts of KP3R, among others.
