[Explosions Heard in Southern Iran, Cause Unknown] According to TechFlow, on November 8th, Iranian state television reported explosions in Jask, Sirik, Bandar Abbas, and Qeshm Island in southern Iran. The cause is currently unclear. Iranian officials have not yet confirmed the source of the explosions.
The semi-official Iranian news agency Tasnim previously reported that two missiles hit Qeshm Island, but there has been no official statement regarding the potential damage. Several days prior, the United States launched an attack on Qeshm Island. A US official stated that the attack was limited in scale and did not indicate a resumption of large-scale military operations.
Middle Eastern countries have been concerned that US President Trump might resume attacks on Iran after the US midterm elections. Trump suspended attacks on Iran weeks before the election. Iran has repeatedly stated that if attacked again, it will strike US and Israeli targets in neighboring countries.
