[Musk: California's High Taxes and Regulations Make Texas a Fertile Ground for Business Development] Golden Finance reported on November 8th that Musk retweeted a Wall Street Journal article titled "Musk Bets His Business Empire on Texas, Now Local Democrats Are Trying to Restrain Him," adding that SpaceX and Tesla's success in Texas stemmed from not having to constantly face a state government that exerts pressure and extracts profits. He further stated that he needed to be near the factory to personally inspect the production lines. This is why SpaceX's first large-scale factory was located in Los Angeles, while Tesla's was in the San Francisco Bay Area. Musk indicated that as the business environment in California became increasingly difficult, with rising taxes and excessive regulations, they moved their major domestic expansion projects and headquarters to Texas.
