Earlier today, news reports indicated that Trump sent Vance to Iran to prepare for the resumption of peace talks. However, in a recent interview, when asked if he was preparing to negotiate with Iran, Trump stated that he had no plans for talks yet, and only sent Vance to deliver medical supplies. In my opinion, he is still preparing to start negotiations. He'll either send aid once he's satisfied, or he'll send Vance to deliver it. I suspect Trump is afraid Iran will refuse, which would be a loss of face, so he's not acknowledging it. However, judging from the current trend, the market hasn't lowered its expectations for oil prices because of Vance's trip to Iran, and it's unlikely before the midterm elections.
