[Analysis: With the US Midterm Elections Approaching, the Democratic Party's "Red to Blue" Plan's Last-Minute Expansion Repeatedly Fails] Odaily Planet Daily reports that with the US midterm elections approaching, House Democrats are pushing into increasingly Republican-leaning districts. Historical experience shows that even in favorable cycles, these last-minute expansion efforts are usually ineffective. According to an analysis by POLITICO, since 2018, no incumbent Republican candidate has successfully won a seat in the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's (DCCC) "Red to Blue" plan in September or October, just before Election Day. Of the 28 candidates included in the plan in the final two months of the election between 2018 and 2024, only three Democrats have won—all of them in seats that were already vacant. This success rate is far below the average for the "Red to Blue" plan. Of the 203 candidates included in the plan in the past four election cycles, 73 have won seats against their opponents.
