Anthropic's IPO prospectus reveals that approximately 5% to 7% of its revenue in the first nine months of this year came from customers who violated its usage policies or terms of business. This is because the process from discovering a violation, investigating, to banning an account takes time. During this period, customers continue to pay, and revenue is still credited to their accounts. Furthermore, some users, after being banned, simply register new accounts and continue using the service. Anthropic stated that it intensified its crackdown efforts in August and September, which will reduce the proportion of revenue from violations, but may also lower future revenue and growth rates.
