[Opinion: PAPER's New Token Minting Mechanism Weakens Early Miners' Advantage, Benefiting Long-Term Protocol Development]
BlockBeats News, October 20: Trader degentrading commented on PAPER's new token minting mechanism, noting that compared to the previous supply model, new users will now receive a relatively higher share, while the advantage of early mining users will diminish. This adjustment is unfavorable for early participants but beneficial for the protocol's long-term development and organic users.
Earlier this morning, Papertrade's official statement indicated that there are no plans to enable the transferability of PAPER tokens for now, and adjustments will be made to fees and the token minting mechanism. Regarding token issuance, in the future, for every $1 million in losses, approximately 0.1% of the then-current PAPER supply will be minted, with the exact ratio depending on the minting rate at the time of the contract upgrade.
When the liquidity pool approaches or falls into an insolvent state, the fixed minting of 100 PAPER per $1 loss will be replaced by a time-weighted multiplier mechanism. The team stated that, in the long run, the new mechanism will gradually dilute the share of earlier holders, giving recent users a greater advantage.
