**[Today's Hot Topic: Tesla Unveils Next-Generation Roadster—Suspected to Hover at Launch, Flying Capability Awaits Official Confirmation]**
Odaily Planet Daily News: Tesla unveiled its next-generation Roadster today at 8:55 AM Beijing time at a SpaceX testing facility in Texas. This debut comes after two consecutive years of declining Tesla vehicle sales, with the company aiming to reignite market interest in its automotive business through the new model. Elon Musk previously described the new Roadster as "beyond movies, beyond imagination, beyond humanity," and hinted that the vehicle might leverage rocket technology to achieve flying capabilities. However, Tesla has yet to confirm whether the Roadster can fly or whether a formal flight demonstration will be conducted.
Prior to the launch, on-site footage showed the construction of a towering, reverse-curved ramp, leading to speculation that the vehicle might perform ramp jumps, inverted driving, or brief hovering. Subsequently, social media reports claimed that the Roadster leaped over a row of Tesla vehicles during the launch event, described as a live stunt. At the time, Polymarket placed the probability of the Roadster "flying" during the demonstration at approximately 69%, with one user reportedly earning $169,000 based on this prediction.
Other posts suggested that the second-generation Roadster's Rocket version supports forward and upward acceleration as well as lateral rotation, asserting that the vehicle "can fly." Musk later retweeted and commented, "Turns out, the future really does have flying cars." However, social media accounts of hovering at the event, stunt demonstrations, and descriptions of the Rocket version's control mechanisms still do not equate to Tesla officially confirming that the mass-production model will possess independent flying capabilities.
